How reciprocity works

The clearest multi-state path for a commercial general-building license is the NASCLA Accredited Examination. The 18highlighted states accept it, so passing it once lets you skip re-taking the trade exam in any of them (you still file each state’s application, business/law exam, bond, and insurance).

Beyond NASCLA, many states have bilateral trade-exam-waiver / reciprocity agreements (e.g., the western group AZ–CA–NV–UT, and the southeastern group around Tennessee and Louisiana). Documented ones are now built in and shown when you select a state — but they change by trade and license class, so always confirm with each board.
